What COVID measures affect companies that have applied for loans?

We will detail some of the measures included in Royal Decree Law 11/2020 as of April 2, 2020, which affects companies that had requested certain loans such as those granted by SGIPYME, EMPRENDETUR loans, and loans granted by the communities autonomous or local entities.

Loans granted by SGIPYME

The loans granted by SGIPYME that are pending resolution on March 14, 2020 will have a modification on the guarantees to be provided. These must be presented after the resolution of the concession and prior to the payment of the loan.

The term to present the guarantees will end on November 3, 2020.

Applicants, if they have had periods of inactivity, reduction in sales volume or interruptions in supply caused by the COVID crisis, may request modifications to the amortization table until September 14, 2022.

Loans granted to Young Entrepreneurs (EMPRENDETUR)

The payment of interest and repayments corresponding to loans granted by the Secretary of State for Tourism is automatically suspended in certain cases.

Loans whose ownership corresponds to an Autonomous Community or Local Entity

Companies or self-employed workers who have requested a loan owned by an Autonomous Community or local Entity may request the deferral of the payment of principal and interest for the remainder of 2020.

This will be possible as long as the COVID crisis has caused periods of inactivity, a significant reduction in the volume of sales or interruptions in the supply of the value chain.

Finally, keep in mind that the regulation is constantly changing during the State of Alarm and the previous circumstances could be altered while it lasts.
